A few adolescent brothers were housed together at the Philadelphia Zoo at one point, and they were really reaching the end of their tenure together. As tigers age, they become solitary animals, and this was definitely apparent with the youngsters while they played. Although it made for a great spectacle, some of the tigers were becoming very agitated by their brother's antics. The tiger crouched in this shot continuously antagonized his brothers, and couldn't seem to figure out when to stop. © 2010-Current.
Amur Leopard taken at Edinburgh Zoo. The male and female pair here are due to move to a new enclosure at the Highland Wild Park in the near future
Certainly not the background I would have preferred, but in zoos, beggars can't always be choosers. Still, considering it was shot at an angle through glass covered in sunny reflections, it didn't turn out too bad. Just thought it was a nice moment shared by mother and one of her 3 cubs.

Christopher is the 17 year-old lion at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, Massachusetts. Now normally he would be sleeping, sleeping, maybe stand up, maybe give a roar, plop back down and go right back to sleep. I was very lucky on this day, however, to catch him actually walking around and even rubbing against the fence/tree. What a handsome cat!
Jaguar "cubs" B'alam and Zean from the Milwaukee County Zoo. I'm not sure who's who. They have since been transferred to different zoos via the AZA's Species Survival Plan, but it was great to see them together when I was in Milwaukee. These are Pat and Stella's cubs and have "valuable" genes since dad Pat came from the wilds of Belize.
