This pride of lions had killed a zebra about 100 yards outside camp. This was very early morning and most of the eating had finished, with just one lioness left at the carcass. The young male seemed on patrol
This is Pat, one of the jaguars at the Milwaukee County zoo. He came from Belize. He couldn't be released back in to the wild but found a home and a mate (Stella) at the Milwaukee County zoo. You can read all about Pat's story, jaguars and their habitats in a book written by the children of Belize and Milwaukee: "Pat the Great Cat: A Jaguar's Journey" published by SHARP Literacy, Inc.
A leopard and her cub sit in a large acacia in Ngorongoro Wildlife Conservation Area in Tanzania. When not hunting leopards spend much of their time in trees. They even carry the carcasses into the trees. This helps prevent scavengers from stealing their meal. Leopards are the smallest of the 4 big cats (which includes the tiger, lion, and jaguar). #BigCats
Shot with my first DSLR (Olympus E-300) in 2006 at South Australia's Monarto Safari Park which claims to be the largest open-range zoo in the World. Didn't process it until yesterday. Why hurry!
