BevMo! used to be a locally owned company headquartered in Concord, California. This is store number 1. I assume it is the oldest and also the Flagship. This store is open later than most of the other BevMo! stores.

So… I managed to acquire a Samsung Infuse phone. I have been an iPhone user since day one but have to admit that I really dig this phone (and Android and its personalization and hacking capabilities). 4.5" screen (HUGE), but thinner than the iPhone and it is very light. I took this capture with it earlier this evening at BevMo (did I mention this thing has an 8MP sensor?). I have never had this tequila but I really like the bottles. ;) Anyhow, I will give this gadget a test drive for a bit and see how it fares with my day-to-day use... First time that I have crossed the Apple line as it relates to phones since 2007! If only Camera+ came out for the Android…

We found the 2 absinthes we were looking for at BevMo liquor store. They had a St. George and one last Mansinthe. It was really really hard waiting to get home to Canada to open them.

Fluorescent Lights

The recycling of fluorescent lights and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps is a proven technology capable of reliably recovering greater than 99% of the mercury in the spent lights. Recovery begins by separating the components by a method such as the crush-and-sieve method. In this process, the spent tubes are first crushed and then sieved to separate the large particles from the mercury-containing phosphor powder. The phosphor powder is collected and processed under intense heat and pressure. The mercury is volatilized and then distilled to the required purity. The glass particles are segregated and recycled into fiberglass. Aluminum components are also segregated and recycled separately.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.

With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rules that apply to material handling. Please review CalRecycle's efforts to implement the Act for more information.

The beer was purchased at our local BevMo, the glass is courtesy of the executive lounge of the Berlin Hilton (where many a fine German beer has been enjoyed over the years - thank you, Hilton), and the Bierdeckel was picked up somewhere or another in Germany. I liked the beer.

Posting very late to 52 Beers group - this one slipped through the cracks and was found while cleaning up old photo files (so many!!).

I first tried Pacifico Clara in college about 7 years ago. In fact, I think that was the only time I've had a Pacifico before today. I remember it lacking flavor and wondering why everyone thought it was the bomb.

Today I made my tri-weekly trip to BevMo to stock up on supplies. I had pretty much ran the gamut of British/Irish Ales and stouts and wanted to try some beer a little closer to home (i.e., cheap domestic beer or Mexican import that is not AS expensive as an Irish import. $10 freaking dollars for a 6 pack?!?!) So I got me a six pack of Pacifico Clara.

I also picked up a little thigamajig of beer salt called "Twang." It seems kind of wrong to have a Mexican beer without salt.

On its own merits, without the salt that is, Pacifico Clara is exactly how I remembered it; bland, flavorless, a poor attempt at beer flavored water. I've spent the last few months drink full bodied, full flavored ales and stouts. And while I can appreciate any beer based on its own merit without comparing it to another beer that is not even in the same category (trying to compare Pacifico to a triple stout is like comparing a Mini Cooper to a Chevy Suburban) my opinion is that Pacifico Claro pretty much sucks as a beer.

The marketing will tell you that it is full flavored. I will tell you that the marketing department is obviously not drinking the beer before they write their copy.

Now, with the beer salt, WHOA, we have entered a whole new taste dimension (you have to pronounce it DIE-MEN-SHUN). With the beer salt I believe I was actually able to taste some of this so called "full body" they speak of. It's pretty sad though that I have to ingest twice the daily allowance of sodium to make a beer taste good .

However, some components in appliances contain hazardous materials that can damage human health and the environment if they are not removed and properly managed.
