Former Alpha Beta Grocery Store. After the failed Lucky Alpha Beta merger the Alpha Beta chain was split up with a majority of the stores being taken over Boys Market Coporate parent. The Alpha-Beta name was retained. When Boys Corporate parent took over Ralphs, this store converted to a Ralphs around 1992 or 5. It operated until 2006, and has been vacant ever since. A sign in the window indicates a liquor liscense for a Fresh and Easy Market. This former Ralphs is located on Sepulveda and Van Owen in Van Nuys, California. The store sits empty and very dusty, ready for its next adventure. One of xx photos.

Hail the Phoenix
Thanks to whosoever produced this poster. During Flickr Blackout I'll be over on ipernity - don't want to get withdrawal symptoms!!!
IF YOU TOO ARE PROTESTING, I SUGGEST YOU POST YOUR IMAGE ON MAINSTREAM GROUPS SUCH AS FLICKRITIS; ONE A DAY; SCREAM OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER ETC..
This is why flickr beta is rubbish for my way of posting over the last 7 years.
#1 The tiny right hand side bar massively discourages anything other than very short comments. My contacts and myself have regularly indulged in lengthy comments and discussions because we LIKE to discuss and debate.
#2 The use of discussion and narrative is further discouraged by only showing the most recent couple of comments, unless you make that extra click.
#3 There have been many times when posting subsidiary photos has helped explain the context of the main photo post e.g. wildlife photos from a different angle. Although it is still possible to do this, they can only be shown at a tiny size in the right hand side bar. The extra click that takes a viewer to a larger size then means you can only see one image at a time, rather than being able to compare and contrast several images to build an overall impression of what the post is about.
#4 Tags now have to be manually entered. What a pain! flickr photos are a hugely useful resource for help in identification of wildlife. Will users now go to the trouble of adding dozens of tags? I doubt it.
#5 The change in the geotag system now makes it harder to instantly see where in the world a photo was taken.
I could go on, but above are FIVE things that are far worse for me under the new flickr beta system.
I've lost so many contacts who have given up on flickr due to the incessant changes. What do I want? I want the CHOICE to go back to the old system, which I am temporarily using via the Spanish language flickr version.
Scavrat Captured Beta.
When I built the Archon Beta, I knew I wanted to build more than one. This was a great opportunity to return to one of my favourite #darklegacies factions, the Scavrats. I added a bit of steampunk flavour to this build, with the bolt launcher and exhaust, which is truer to the original source material. It also has a Sisterhood Lantern of Revelation up front to ensure no invisible demons can sneak up on the pilot when working the carrion fields.
This build is complete but also a WIP, as I have a bunch of old dark gray parts coming in from BrickLink and I may replace the left arm cannon with an arm/multi-tool. I also need to get to work on my new custom base so I can do some proper photos.
Prague
Perhaps my greatest find during my stay in Prague. This Å koda Beta.
If I am correct is this a 1995-1996 model, which are only made 100 from. And after a year the production was made by Tatra, and the engine was replaced by a Hyundai-engine.
During 1996-1999 there are about 396 examples made.
Originally the Beta was designed as an electric car.
There was hardly any ex
port, only 4 went to Slowakia.
2/10 Looks to be in pretty decent condition here, testament to its location in the southern half of the country? Let's hope it sees the road again.
Beautiful shots from EVERSPACE.
Shot using Fraps and in-game Action Freeze cam. Bottom cropped (Beta Build and EVERSPACE logo).
Beta (1.1.28051) access is finally here !
Crowdfunded and from the makers of the iconic Galaxy on Fire series comes a new breed of space shooter for PC and Xbox One, combining roguelike elements with top-notch visuals and a captivating story.

In a future drones make the difference in war and this drone is ready for fight.
"Beta D3" small scene.
2/10I was trying to minimise the garage finds in my top 10, but this was so unusual I had to include it. Particularly pleasing for it to be the facelift model. The missing headlight glass is the only significant thing I can see wrong with it externally, but maybe there's a rust problem underneath or some mechanical issue?
Inspired by Shamisenfred's "COBRA" Interceptor.

Maybe this photo is rather interesting than spectacular.
The International Space Station orbits the Earth with an average altitude of 420 km and inclination of 51.6°. Due to this high inclination, four times every year during a less-than-a-week-long period the ISS is being illuminated by the Sun continuously so it's visible and observable the whole night from the Earth. These periods are called High Beta Angle Seasons. Two of these periods (in May and July) are visible on the middle and high latitudes of Northern Hemisphere, the rest two periods (in November and January) are visible on the Southern Hemisphere.
The second Northern HBA period of the year occurred this week and I was able to observe and capture eight transits of the Space Station during two moonless and cloudless nights near Mogyoród, Hungary. Recently the sky above Europe is full of Saharan dust as it's clearly visible over the horizon.
