View from the bridge over the River Aare in Bern. We had a short visit to Switzerland last week - mainly to visit my brother who lives there (and isn't well) - but we managed a small amount of sight-seeing too.
Another shot from the same spot in the comment below.

Bern – Kirchenfeld Bridge
The bridge was built by the engineers Moritz Probst and Jules Röthlisberger of the metal construction company Gottlieb Ott & Cie. Designed in Bern as a hingeless arch bridge in a riveted welded iron construction, built in 21 months and inaugurated on 24 September 1883.
It was the third bridge of this type in Switzerland. Previously, the Javroz Bridge at Charmey and the Black Water Bridge between Bern and Schwarzenburg were built in the same design.
Because of the financing by the English development company, the bridge was known by the vernacular until the end of the 19th century as the "English Bridge".

Our last night in Stockholm we went to a modern Asian fusion restaurant that was *fabulous*. I was overly excited though, and my pictures kind of suck. I even completely forgot to take a picture of one of the courses (pork skewers) that was probably my favorite, though they were all fantastic.
This is the cherry pie, which was more like a cobbler. The ice cream was rich and creamy and the crumble definitely had a vanilla quality.
Finally got to hang out with the amazing Bern! Had a great time! :D Check out her flickr!

Springtime in my hometown Bern.
To the left: the oldtown with the cathedral (1421).
In the middle: Aare river and Nydegg Bridge (1844).
To the right of it: the Bear Park (heraldic animal of Bern).

A beautiful afternoon in the medieval city of Bern, Switzerland. In the background, the Zytglogge, an iconic clock built in the 13th century in the center of the main shopping and tourist street in the old city. A few meters after the passage under the clock is the Einsteinhaus, the place where Albert Einstein lived for a few years, which today works as a museum and has a nice little cafe on the ground floor. I found the city very interesting and charming, good to spend a few days, especially for those who also plan to go to Interlaken, although many say they did not like Bern because it is small, quiet, cold and expensive. Well, this is all true, but taste is relative. Perhaps a read in Einstein's Theory of Relativity studies back at Einsteinhaus will help you to understand better, or probably make you misunderstand everything you thought you understood. :-)

"...I'm dirty, mean and mighty unclean
I'm a Wanted man
Public Enemy Number One
Understand
So lock up your daughter
And lock up your wife
Lock up your back door
And run for your life
The man is back in town
So don't you mess around
