Reflection on a beautiful day. Especially fond of the upper righthand corner here with the bridge railing and notices posted on the gate.

Sitting in the middle of Marin Circle in Berkeley, California, this fountain, featuring the State symbol golden bears, was originally built to be the grand entrance to the state capitol building.
Ultimately, Sacramento became the state capital but despite being destroyed by a runaway truck in the late 1950s, the Berkeley fountain was rebuilt and remains a beloved fixture in the city.

This late afternoon shot of Fairfax Street in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, includes a view of the mural on the side of the building housing the Fairfax Coffee House. I took this photo while standing near the entrance to Berkeley Springs State Park, which also features a health spa with mineral springs.
Evening twilight over UC Berkeley (Cal) campus, shot from the Berkeley hills.
I was working an assignment for a website to get this shot, but as luck would have it, this time of year is when the summer fog rolls in over the hills most evenings just after sunset. On five prior attempts, i came away empty handed, that is, unable to see San Francisco on the horizon due to fog, or completely socked in in Berkeley. The unexpected rainstorm Monday night was telling me the clouds might break and the visibility might be good for the next evening's sunset.
I met up with Matt G. to climb some hills above the campus to find a good spot. I must say, shooting photos in the summer is so much more pleasant than in winter. Those exposed hillsides can get very cold and windy at times, but this night was just lovely.

A lot of English history involved this castle and the Berkeley family. The castle has remained in the Berkeley family since they reconstructed it in the 12th century, except for a period of royal ownership by the Tudors. It is traditionally believed to be the scene of the murder of King Edward II in 1327. Elizabeth I visited a few times and the castle changed hands multiple times during the civil war.
The castle has also been featured in a number of British productions including Wolf Hall. The day we visited, a new BBC drama was being filmed there.
