This is Old City Hall. Also, the site of the first Public School (Boston Latin School), which is still in operation in the Fenway neigborhood.

Idiotarod took place in New York City January 28, 2006. Basically, a bunch of people dress funny and push shopping carts around in a race of speed, style, and cunning.

Outside Independence Hall stands the magnificent statue of Commodore John Barry, the real father of the American Navy. From the son of a poor Irish farmer, Barry eventually became senior commander of the entire United States fleet.

This started out as just a quick picture of my two empty coin slots, but I got carried away once I took the lens cap off. I've become such a photo geek. Sheesh!

 

BTW: Franklin half dollars were minted between 1948 and 1963 -- 35 coins in the complete set. This was all before my time and I never saw one of these in circulation. The Kennedy halves began in 1964.

Bronze statue, "Ben Franklin," by artist George Lundeen on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, is decorated with a Kansas City Chiefs #10 Tyreek Hill jersey for playoff week.
