I can't believe how I still have flowers on my butterfly bushes after the morning frosts we've had. There are still a few bees hanging around. They move slow because of the cold, so it's a perfect opportunity to practice my macro shots.

Caught in a sudden heavy rain storm, these bee's will grip on to flower or leaf with their powerful jaws till long after the danger has past!

a white fronted bee eater (merops albicollis).

this kind of bee eater con be found in south africa all the year around.it's a lovely bird and in some areas quite common.

in photography the hardest part is in this case to get the details of the white front.the whites are very easy to be "fired" especially in canon.take care on exposure!

More bees visiting my garden this summer than in the past few years. A good thing! Judging by the white spots on his face, I'm guessing that this a male Carpenter Bee.

As you can see the bee is missing the tips of its wings. Possibly a bird tried to catch her and she escaped 😉 In any case, she was apparently too hot that day and had to take a break on my patio table 😃 This year there are more bees with us again and a greater number of species can also be observed. Have a peaceful MBT! everybody 😄

Bee photos, these are becoming increasingly hard to get, especially here in Essex. Many of the gardens I visit have had a real decrease in numbers. On my walks into the countryside Buddleja, Thistle and other wild flowers there is hardly anything. Is there a cure?

Thank you for your visit, comment or fave, all are much appreciated.

This bee was busy in the flower and fell out on his back in his hurry. Thanks for looking and happy weekend!

Or at least I think they are bees!

A Honey Bee on the Grosso Lavender. :-)

This beautiful Magnolia flower was obviously very attractive to the bees.

Feeding on gallardia. This flower is great for attracting bees.

During a walk today, it seemed that I saw more bees busily gathering pollen.Perhaps some scientist were correct when they studied bees, finding the bees spent more time out of the hive foraging and stopped work later in the afternoon when the following day proved to be rainy rather than sunny. They seemed to be responding to cues such as changes in humidity, temperature and barometric pressure that preceded rainstorms.
