It's beer, hooray beer!

It is a bold statement for me to declare a favorite beer but Pliney the Elder epitomizes my favorite style: bright, hoppy, floral, spicy, and a golden/orange color.

I hadn't ever tried this until today after I finally got lucky enough for my local grocery store to have 3 bottles in stock (which I bought all of). Perhaps the hunt for this elusive beer is clouding my judgment and you may find me changing my mind after drinking the other 2 bottles over time, but for now, if I had to pick one beer that I could point to and say: "out of all the styles and types of beers, this is my favorite"

I've been looking for over a year after hearing about this brew and it was worth the wait. That said, what the hell? Why so hard to get? brew more!

Next step: find this beer on tap somewhere

I loved the way the light caught these...

The Tasmania Tiger is now extinct but the Cascade Brewery had a picture of one behind their bar. Free beers I had after doing the Cascade Brewery tour.

Two mugs of beer at SchillerGarten.

Which beer did I have? The one on the glass or the one on the bottle?

Beer Drinking Buddy Of Mine.

At Cambrinus, in Brugge, Belgium. This is their "house beer".

This is a product of the Philippines. It's gotta be one of my favorite light beers out there!

During the Jubilee Festivities, there was an event in our town called the 'Four Legged Beer Race'. It consisted of three people being tied at the ankles (so the middle person had both feet tied to other people on each side of them) with beer stops at various points on the route. Each of the three people had to down one of these cups of beer at each stopping point. This had the effect of making it much less easy for them to coordinate towards the end of the race! One team who set off never did make it to the end, so goodness only knows what happened to them.

Taken in 'Fire Island' - (the old 'Glamorgan Staff Club') - on the junction of Westgate / Womanby / & Quay Street, Cardiff.

A soft 'diffusion filter' was used.

Something new from Parallel 49. Tricycle Meyers Lemon Radler. I really like their grapefruit radler so I thought I'd try this. Found it a bit sweet, but not bad for a refreshing drink. I prefer the grapefruit over this, but may be worth a repeat once in a while.

Blackrock Brasserie is a new brew house opened up in the Sutherland Shire and it's a welcomed addition to the range of restaurants and dining options opening up at a rapid rate in Sydney's south!

Today's talented brewers are innovating, experimenting, and enthusiastically embracing the seemingly mystical complexity of flavors and aromas derived from wood. From the souring effects of microbes that take up residence in the wood to the wood character drawn from barrels or foeders, this book covers not only the history, physiology, microbiology, and flavor contributions of wood, but also the maintenance of wooden vessels."
