The quarrymen, often aided by child labourers, cut the stone free of the cave walls. Since the stone quickly hardened when exposed to air, it was worked by skilled stonemasons as soon as possible. The masons worked inside the caves, where the relatively constant temperature meant the stone was not subject to damage from frost or changeable weather.

Three craft beers with my calzone for my birthday lunch

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. The beer was good. The one in back seemed kind of ordinary. The one in front on the left they called a premium and it really was. The darker one on the right was my favorite. It had a distinctive Clove taste and was really enjoyable.

Well it's the Beccles Beer Festival this weekend however this clashes with a weekend of doing and going so we will just have to see if we get a chance to go. Felbrigg Hall and Blickling and Oxburgh Estate are calling and on Remembrance Day Melanie is ringing the bells at Beccles in a peal and muffled ring. So a few beers to keep us going if we can not make the beer festival to sup in front of a real log fire! Shall have the Nibbler first......
