OK, it's a crop. But still a case of getting close with a macro lens. Sue me.

Bee fly is about 8 mm long and probably belongs to genus Villa. Broomweed is Amphiachyris dracunculoides , and is common in overgrazed calcareous soils. Photo near Onion Creek, Austin.

It's hard to stop photographing bees once you start. Chasing one bee after another, hoping this time you'll get a good shot, that the bee won't fly away too soon.

A bit of a love in in the lambs ears today ;)

Winter is on its way and the bees will be gone soon.

Taken on the Fuji s100fs macro setting, can't wait for my raynox DCR 150 to arrive so I can get a little closer :)
