How to Install a New Shower from a Tub
To install a new shower from just a tub can either be a thousand-dollar carpenter job, or a do-it-yourself $100 endeavor.
So you bought a house that has one shower in the master bedroom and one half bath with a tub for the house guests. While you definitely got the house for a good deal, you knew you’d have to convert that bathtub into a shower for any house guests to use. And while you were shopping around for a guy (or gal) to do the job, you get this phone call:
Favorite cousin from Florida: “We’re coming to LA!”
You: “Great!”
Cousin: “Tomorrow.”
You: Crap. “Great! I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
So now you need to install a new shower from your tub overnight.

Step 1 - Mounting the Shower Head
Take out your Flag Pole Holder Bracket. Knock on the wall to find the beam where the head of the Hand Held Shower should go. It should run up and down the center along where the lower faucet is. Line it up straight and drill it to the wall.
Unpack your Hand Held Shower. Stick the long rope down the flag pole bracket letting the shower head hang over. It should look like this:
Step 2 - Screwing in the Shower to the Faucet
The lower end of the Hand Held Shower now needs to be fastened into the tub faucet, effectively turning your tub into a shower. Simply screw it in like this:

Now that your shower head is working, it’s time to complete the shower. As you can see in the image above, the window is vulnerable to water and therefore water damage.
Step 3 - Setup Shower Rod Curtain
Twist the shower rod to unlock it and extend it from wall to wall. When it is fully extended, twist the rod in the opposite direction to lock it. It should be strong enough to hang by itself and durable enough to withstand a slight pull.
Now hang the Shower Curtain Hooks onto the rod. And finally, hang the Shower Curtain onto the hooks. What you have should look like this:
In the end what you have is a fully converted, however makeshift, tub-to-shower conversion.

I’ve been searching online all day for a bed that is larger than a king size. Before I set out on such a dastardly quest I assumed, probably naively, that there must be a company out there selling beds that are larger than a king. How large you may ask? I’d answer, that’s very irrelevant, and doesn’t really aid me in my crib crusade. I just need to know if there exists such a magical trundle. What I did find was something called a Cali-King. Yes, it is found most commonly in the State of California. Why? I have no inkling except for this major clue: I married a Californian, and she likes sleep more than a Canadian Kodiak in January. Sadly, the Cali King is not actually any larger than the more common King. King = 78 x 80 inches Cal-King = 72 x 84 inches. While everyone knows length matters, girth is also important when speaking about bedding. And that is what we are speaking about after all... bedding.
In summation, if anyone knows where I can find a bed the size of Tehas, do tell.

- went to moutarde for brunch with dave. super good.
- then we had an adventure and went to the bedbathandbeyond way the hell out in like rockaway, brooklyn. it was fantastic! also hit the target.
- talked to dora and was going to try and see the new daniel day-lewis movie at lincoln center, but by the time i got home fandango tixs were sold out. sad face. (btw, dora, i love those bday pics of me. another year flies by indeed.)
- made dave take me to my storage unit so i could drop off the 7 empty boxes i unpacked already. rawk!
- unpacked more, figured out (thanks to dave; um could i mention him any more.) that i can get tv!! woot!!
- talked to bruce, whew a voice never sounded so good.

- made cupcakes, jennie came over. we had cupcakes and wine and watched the giants/pats game. in my new place. that i love.
- was really missing my great and powerful schmoo so my self portrait is more homage to him since i miss him so much. sad face again.
- laundry tomorrow, then off to shop with dora in soho before she heads back to sf. ugh! another sad face. must be the pms.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their “useful life.” Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rules that apply to material handling. Please review CalRecycle’s efforts to implement the Act for more information.
