Ive spent the past 20 years photographing all types of athletes both professional and amateur, for magazines, web sites and various other media. This type of work is often done in a fairly straightforward manner lighting and background wise to allow for maximum flexibility on the design end. I've often wondered what could be done to "art" them up and make them a bit more interesting. This series is a "re-imagining" of these images :-)
it was our photo trip to the northeast of japan in nov,2014,and we arrived the big temple called中尊寺, the autumn season , all the trees turned into colorful , red ,yellow etc.. many tourist came to here to enjoyed the beautiful scenery, verything was beautiful

This is my favorite place and JAL was about to take off. When I go to airport, I usually visit deck at night, which is beautifu with the tons of blue light.
A beautiful fish indeed... What do you mean i made up that latin name... i dont know what your talking about.
I think many of us only look at art for a moment. If any one can look for ten minuets it must be a master work. So I felt this might hold a moment for some of us. I know I love to sit and look at many of my images for a long time. Some I will look at ever week or so just to enjoy what they can give me. Some of the images I find on the web I just love to sit back and drink in what they are. This week I will try to slow my self to a longer look at ever image I find on flickr. Well that I fav any way. Many people put many hours in to a image they make. One moment seems to short to look at any image.

Father and son collaboration
Our photographic art is a kinetic motion study, from the results of interacting with my son A.J and his toys.
He was born severely handicapped much like a quadriplegic. On December 17,1998. Our family’s goal has always been to help A.J. use his mind, even though he has minimal use of his body.
A.J. likes to watch lights and movement. One of the few things he can do for himself is to operate a switch that sets in motion lights and various shiny, colorful streamers and toys that swirl above his bed.
One day I took a picture of A.J. with his toys flying out from the big mobile near his bed like swings on a carnival ride. I liked the way the swirling objects and colors looked in the photo.
I wanted to study the motion more and photograph the whirling objects in an artful way, I wanted my son A.J. to be a part of it. After all, he’s the one who inspires me. When A.J. and I work together on our motion artwork, A.J. starts his streamers and objects twirling, I take the photographs.
Activating a tiny switch might not seem like much to some, but it’s all A.J. can do. He controls the direction the mobile will spin, as well as when it starts and stops. The shutter speeds are long, and sometimes, I move the camera and other times I hold it still.
I begin our creation with a Nikon digital camera. Then I use my computer with Photoshop to alter the images into what I feel might be an artistic way. Working with Photoshop, I find the best parts from several images and combine them into the final composite photograph. I consider the finished work to be fine art. The computer is just the vehicle that helps my expressions grow.
I take the photographs and A.J. adds the magic. It’s something this father and son do together. After I’ve taken a few shots, I show him the photos in the back of the camera. When the images are completed, I show him from a laptop. He just looks. He can’t tell me whether or not he likes the images, but he’s always ready to work with me again.
It offers me my only glance into A.J.’s secret world. We’ve built a large collection of images and I hope the motion and color move you as much as they do me.
A.J. inspires me to work harder to understand my life in the areas of art, photography, people, spirituality, and so much more. He truly sets my mind in motion and helps me find the beauty in everyday things.

I've just come back from a fornight in france. 6 adults. 7 kids. a big gite. the beach. good food. good wine and a great beach for creating.
last year we wnet to this same beach and found hundreds of stone stacks. this year there were none....
so we built some. about 30 or so. the next day there were more. the day after that lots more. whenever we came back people had added a few more. we always did our best to make the biggest or furthest out to see. we even did a sunrise stint (not easy after a few bottles the night before) and made a beautifuly and absolutely straight line of stones. (photos to follow)
i know its not 'urban' streety stuff but it's being creative. i haven't painted for a couple of months. i am re building the garden and re modelling my sons' playhouse.
i will paint again.
Lichfield lies at the heart of England. 1300 years ago it stood at the centre of the Kingdom of Mercia. When Chad was made Bishop of Mercia in 669 he moved his See from Repton to Lichfield, which may already have been a holy site since there is a legend that Christians were martyred there under the Roman Emperor Diocletian. When Chad died in 672 pilgrims began to come to his shrine, and in 700, Bishop Hedda built a new church to house his bones. Starting in 1085 and continuing through the twelfth century this Saxon church was replaced by a Norman Cathedral, then by the Gothic Cathedral begun in 1195.
Pilgrimage to the shrine of Chad continued formany years. The Cathedral was expanded by the addition of a Lady Chapel, and by 1500 there were perhaps as many as twenty altars around the Cathedral. All this changed at the Reformation, and the Cathedral was severely damaged during the Civil War, being beseiged three times.
Bishop Hacket restored the Cathedral in the 1660s, and William Wyatt made substantial changes to its ordering in the eighteenth century, but it was Sir George Gilbert Scott, Cathedral Architect from 1855-1878, who was responsible for its successful restoration to Medieval splendour.

Beautifuly detailed fern leaf illustrations from Ferns: British and Exotic (1856–1860) by the renowned botanist Edward Joseph Lowe (1825–1900). From a young age, Lowe was fascinated by meteorology and astronomy as well as having a great interest in ferns. This led to an extensive botanical study, resulting in eight illustrated volumes of Ferns: British and Exotic. We have digitally enhanced some of these incredible fern illustrations into high-resolution printable quality. They are free to download under the CC0 license.
