A lone vivid violet colored flower and a couple of buds hang from the branch of a Judas tree, while the light plays with the green background.
Cercis siliquastrum, commonly known as the Judas tree or Judas-tree, is a small tree from Southern Europe and Western Asia which is noted for its prolific display of deep pink flowers in spring.
There is a myth that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from a tree of this species , causing its white flowers to turn red. This belief is related to the common name "Judas tree", which is possibly a corrupted derivation from the French common name, Arbre de Judée, meaning tree of Judea, referring to the hilly regions of that country where the tree used to be common. Another source for the name is the fact that the flowers and seedpods can dangle directly from the trunk in a way reminiscent of Judas's method of suicide.
The blossoms appear before the leaves, and they are of a brilliant crimson. The flaming beauty of the flowers attracts innumerable insects, and the wandering bee is drawn after it to gather honey. But every bee which alights upon the blossom, imbibes a fatal opiate, and drops dead from among the crimson flowers to the earth.
This automn my wife and I where manny times in the forest we know. We never saw so manny different mushrooms as this year. On one day we were suprised, because the light was shining so special and all the wonderful creation there were presentated very beautifuly.
Second, I saw that there was a leaf on the mushroom and this made it for me very out of the ordinary.
Of corse, with all that we could discover on this nice place, our dog Roco was there with us.

Retracing my steps and back on out of Cliff Gilker Park, there appeared to be a multitude of opportunities. And, this cascading flow with its thunderous sound, looked promising. It twisted and turned as it snaked on down into the deeper regions of the forest.
However, what struck me most was the ever present vivid green. Whether hanging moss, low growing leaves, or the trees themselves, it was vibrant and ever present. In here, life was on hold and delivering a timeless sight.

Some time ago I found a piece of forest that had been left alone for a long time. It was really wild. A veritable, small jungle had formed. There were broken branches and fallen trees everywhere. A swamp had developed near a small stream. Then I found the horsetail against a dark background. The sun beamed down on him through the trees. He shone beautifuly.
