A feast of beasts in Burton depot yard on 06.01.96. Not one of my best shots I have to admit but the only photo that I have of Leyland National 273 NTC 625M with Stevensons and the ex Frontline Leyland Atlantean PUA 315W that they ran for a while and appeared on service 401 Uttoxeter to Burton at least once.
At Teesside Minicon, we are all about bringing smiles to people's faces, thank you to everyone who attended our last event and we will look forward to seeing you all again at our Teesside Unleashed 4 event on Saturday 13 September at Marton Country club
Second biggest beast in the park right now, as far as I know. We'll be seeing a lot more of him next month but right now he's still hanging back and hiding out.
The Queen's Beasts are ten heraldic statues depicting the genealogy of Queen Elizabeth II. They were commissioned by the British Ministry of Works to stand in front of the temporary annex to Westminster Abbey for the Queen's coronation in 1953. The beasts are: the lion of England, the griffin of Edward III, the falcon of the Plantagenets, the black bull of Clarence, the yale of Beaufort, the white lion of Mortimer, the White Greyhound of Richmond, the red dragon of Wales, the unicorn of Scotland, and the white horse of Hanover. After going from Westminster Abbey to Hampton Court then Windsor Castle, the originals are now in a museum in Canada. In 1958 Sir Henry Ross, the chairman of the Distillers Company, Edinburgh paid for these portland stone replicas to be made and displayed here, outside the Palm House.
The Victorian font at Darlingscott has small relief panels on it's eight sides, some with Biblical symbols, others with beastial heads emerging from swirls of foliage as seen here.
Here's another girl I have been meaning to photograph again for a while...
She has such beautifull eyes!
Beast is wearing a Poppy Parker dress and Nu Face boots (so fab!).
This is the way I found to make the KK2 "Super" Vladek useful. I tried to make the beast using only bricks from Vladek (I just added the 2 red studs for the eyes and 2 for the ears). I liked the result and now I think that the Ben 10 figures should make even better creatures.
Bench-end carving, from Wilby parish church, Suffolk. This seems to be a mythical beast, with hooves but a dog-like face and a squirrel-like tail. This is most likely a Victorian copy of a medieval carving, where the modern carver had to try and interpret what had been in a damaged original
The Beast... A.K.A. a 1952 Sicard snowblower, put simply it's a massive truck!
The truck itself runs a gas engine, while the snow blower is powered by a very large Buda diesel engine, and that's about all I know about this truck... But here is a rather generic overview of Sicard history - home.gwi.net/~spectrum/snowhistory.html
