These beans are quite a bit cheaper than the well-known brands but they taste much the same. I store them upside down as the beans settle at the bottom leaving the juice on top. This way the beans aren't jammed in the bottom of the can.

I came across this whilst tidying a drawer. I don't remember what possessed me to purchase it, but I must have found it amusing at the time.
I've never actually used it!
I took my cup of romano beans and placed them between sheets of glass and to my surprise the beans have an underwater effect!

I saw these cans when I was shopping in Lidl this morning, one wonders if the folk who chose this brand name know that the Newgate Prison was a byword for squalor.
Johnson Camp wouldn't be Johnson Camp without string beans. (And yours truly strung all five pounds of 'em.)
It was cold and rainy on this afternoon as a friend and I motorcycled through northern Rwanda. As we looked down upon a small village in a valley, this boy was among a group of curious children who came to check us out. This buy was running an errand for his family, purchasing a bag of beans to eat. He's holding his ragged jacket on to keep warm, and the rain is washing the dust off of his skin one drop at a time.

I saw some bean bags at Party City to use with party games - they were $10 for 4 bean bags!! So I bought a bag of dried beans for $1.16, used scraps of fabric I had on hand, and viola! I think they'll be perfect for games on lazy summer games outside, and great for the cold winter months when the boys need a new indoor activity.
Cupcakes and buttercream made with vanilla bean paste, filled with chocolate ganache. My first ever time using vanilla bean paste.
Cupcakes were good, but that buttercream was way too sweet, it made my teeth hurt.
Recipes from here, but I used my own favorite ganache recipe.

Agios Germanos is the only village in the Prespes region that has preserved all of the old stone houses. The Byzantine church that forms the nucleus of the present village dates to the beginning of the 11th century. It has very interesting frescos painted in three different phases.
The village is especially known among tourists for hiking, bird watching and the Agios Germanos river with falls, which has the endangered species of the Salmo trutta peristericus trout.
