A bunch of beefy big boys on the beach - I think they were military - we have all branches here, many are here for short stays for schools and training. They were having a good time; I was surprised to see themin the water - the air may be warm, but the river temperature has to still be cool.

The beach was located on the northern coast of France, facing the English Channel, and was 5 miles (8 km) long, from east of Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes to west of Vierville-sur-Mer. The beach is host to events throughout the summer for both locals and visitors. The East Coast Surfing Championships (started by the Virginia Beach Jaycees on the shores of Virginia Beach in 1963) are the second-longest, continuously-run surfing contest in the world!
