This blue flag beach is one of three blue flag beaches in Fife., and together with Elie's Earlsferry beach, with which it is connected, provides almost a mile of clean soft sand. It's popular with families building sandcastles and eating ice cream bought from the pretty little shops that line the shore, and is also famed for watersports – the sheltered bay means it is not too windy so is good for beginners who like to try their hand at try windsurfing, canoeing and waterskiing. You can even try out the inflatable banana boats or rubber rings. It's not the most peaceful of beaches admittedly, but its location is perfect – set in a truly stunning little village

The northern section of Bonbon Beach. Together with its snaking sandbar, this is probably the most beautiful beach on Romblon Island but something needs to be done with debris being washed ashore.

Someone's been scribbling on my beach. And I've no idea what it is. Sea spider gossamer? Squid sperm? Whelk piss? Does anyone know?

The MV Plancius in the distance, manoeuvring through the icebergs, coming to resupply the MV Rembrandt van Rijn, which is anchored off the beach at Cape Hofmann Halvo, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland. There is limited space for supplies in the schooner so the larger expedition ship meets up with the smaller ship to resupply her midway through the trip.

Tuesday morning was spent at Harvard Square, Harvard Yard, and the Harvard Museum of Natural History. In the afternoon we drove to The Cape (Cape Cod) and enjoyed the much warmer water at Sea Gull Beach in Yarmouth.

today is the last day (minus the weekend) of her first spring break with us. We had a great time and I'm glad my hubby didn't have to work so he could spend it with the family. We made a lot of great memories.

Bath houses standing in formation at Brighton Beach in Melbourne Australia. Pretty cool how what would otherwise be an ugly weathered wooden shed is transformed into a work of art.

At Navagio, Shipwreck beach in Zakynthos, Greece. Walking on that pebbly sand is difficult!
