Took the kids to the beach in Gillson Park yesterday. Nice and sunny in the afternoon but the water's a little cold. Fun afternoon, anyway.

The beach at Mill Creek, Lower Blomidon, N.S..
....in the 1800`s there was a shipyard at Mill Creek where the creek spills out onto the beach.Several sailing vessels where built and launched here right onto the beach. Today one can easily view the remaining cribbing and pilings of the slipway.
Every morning there is the decision of where to go. My choice is limited as I need to be at the office by 8:00. This morning I shot by the Makai Research Pier. Just before departing I noticed the light on the mountain and captured one last shot. 163/365
Stopped at the beach on the way home to take a couple of shots, had some errands to run so I couldn't wait for the sunset which I understand was great

Long Beach is the Tofino area's most renowned beach ... vast, unspoilt and a surfer's paradise. We couldn't resist stopping here at about 7.00pm on the way to our resort, which was in the next bay.
