When Randy and I crossed the street into this crowd we instantly lost each other -- just by crossing the street! I ended up having to call him.

Stall selling all types of nuts and dried seeds at the Festive Street Bazaar, during the Chinatown Chinese New Year 2016 Festival celebrations.

The Grand Bazaar, Fetih, Istabul, Turkey, 28 October 2009. It was built by the Ottomans in 1455-81 soon after they took Constantinople and is one of the oldest and largest covered shopping centres (or 'malls' in American parlance!) in the world. It was rebuilt/repaired many times after numerous earthquakes and fires over the following centuries and was last renovated in 1980. Pictured is the main gate (interior).

A modern extension of the Bazaar Vakil is illuminated by the lights of shops selling their wares.

Shot taken inside Spice Bazaar in Istanbul. One of the electronic banner is written in Japanese. Locals here learn foreign language mainly from foreign tourists.

A quick snapshot of the activity in Urfa's bazaar.

This is inside the covered bazaar, busy all week. On Sundays, buyers and sellers come in from rural areas and the bazaar pours outside onto the street.

One of the oldest covered markets in the world, first opened in 1461.

A wonderful mix of ancient and modern. Stall holders were friendly - and haggling is the norm.
