Usually Yogya Batik has white as the background color. Fine batik is produced at Kampung Taman district.
Batik Drawing, the borderline were drawn using hot liquid mixture of wax and bee wax. Then the cloth is left to dry and ready to be painted.

My mom's artwork. This set is in my brother's home. We are very fortunate to have her legacy of lots of beautiful and clever artwork. She was a painter, a potter, a jeweller, sculptor in many media, and textile artist, as well as a quilter. Approx. 5 feet tall.
Kain batik Yogyakarta tulis ini satu seri dengan motif buketan Bunga Kuning. Tampilan warna dasarannya adalah biru tua dengan motif bunga kombinasi biru muda & putih. Dapat digunakan sebagai dress ataupun blues .
This is my proudest accomplishment. My senior year of high school I took a mixed media art class and we learned to batik. I took plain muslin and created this masterpiece with my hands, wax and dye. It's a wall hanging now. So effing awesome.

from handspun chain plied South African Fine wool, dyed by Adrian at Hello Yarn
2x2 ribbing with a purl ridge every 10th row. It adds some texture, and makes it super easy to count rows and make the socks match perfectly. (Well, in size, if not in color!)

One of the most beautiful spots on St. Kitts, Romney Manor is home to the Caribelle Batik Factory. Artisans use hot wax and dye to create distinctive and colorful batik fabrics and patterns, most commonly for dresses and shirts but also for pillow covers, scarves, wall hangings, and more. Every visit to the shop starts with a batik demonstration; visitors are then welcome to wander the store and grounds, which includes the ruins of a historic sugar plantation and paths to a nearby rain forest. Just outside the gates you'll find pre-Columbian petroglyphs left by the Carib indians.
