wow - this little lizard is the basilisk - the one creature that can turn you by his gaze to stone - I asked my friend Ghasem to look at the Basilisk's face, but got really angry then, when he remained there like a statue & refused to come on with me - at least I could pick his car-keys out of his pocket..

Basilisk Basiliscus basiliscus (called the Jesus Christ Lizard because it walks on water, and this one did) at La Paloma Lodge, Drake Bay, Costa Rica.
Very sill and muggy. feeling much warmer than 87 degrees (F), Visited Chapel Trail Nature Preserve and then West Pines Soccer Park and Nature Preserve. Not many birds were out. Visit rosy-finch.blogspot.com
