Basiliscus Plumifrons, female, Tortuguero, Costa Rica. This is also known as the Jesus Christ Lizard because it can run across the surface of water. For an explanation, follow this link: news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/11/1116_041116_jesu...
Mary Lou spotted this basilisk in a tree next to the center building. It was difficult to see through the tree branches, about a foot long. We paid a brief visit to the eagle nest and then went on to Chapel Trail. A very quiet morning. Visit rosy-finch.blogspot.com
Also known as the 'Jesus Christ Lizard'. Actually had the pleasure of seeing a few of these guys running across water.
