This image was intentionally photographed this way as I was sharpening my eye with just shapes and light..the basics of photography. ;-)
This is a Southern Magnolia Bloom getting ready to open.
Sorry I deleted the first photo of her. Was bothered by the fact that her eyes appeared wonky and one of her earrings was displaced LOL

the meaning of 'bhuna'
an Indian dish or sauce in which spices are dry-roasted in a pan and then combined with a moistening agent such as yogurt or water.
the word 'bhuna' refers to the cooking method of this dish, and means 'to fry' or 'fried'. usually the spices are fried gently, before adding the meat.
originating in bengal, bhuna is a hot curry and doesn’t come swimming in sauce. it’s usually a thick sauce, with just enough to cling to the meat.

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...
i've created a group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...
Back to basics. Parallel lines. Deep shadow and black paint acting together.
A new addition to my series Lines and planes.
It's about surprising compositions in the everyday, a special view of buildings, interiors ... lines made abstract.
I wanted to get a shot of the Aquilegia in my garden before they went over but it's been too breezy the last few days to get anything properly focused so had to go back to basics & bring one indoors :)
I chose the title for this shot for two reasons: one, this beautiful tiny pond sits on the property of a preschool called Back To Basics Childcare in Lebanon, Maine and two, because as I was pondering poetic words for this photo, I realized that the serenity in the image reminds me that sometimes we just have to get "back to the basics" of life; air, water, breathing -- to achieve harmony in our lives.
Kim Kardashian look alike lol!
I love how these dolls come with banging shoes!
And obviously they can wear earrings! I have seen someone put earrings in the first Barbie Basics, but how they did it I have no clue!
No these are not my pictures - go to the website in the watermark for cheap dollies!

Jan (or Jean) Soens ('s-Hertogenbosch, 1547 or 1548 - Parma, 1611) - Creation of the world and Adam (1575-1591) - Oil on canvas - Galleria Nazionale, Parma
After learning the basics of painting in Antwerp, Soens arrived in Rome around 1573 where he acquired a certain fame as a landscape painter working under the direction of Giorgio Vasari. From April 1575 he moved to Parma paid by the Farneses in the service of which, except for a short period, remained until 1606. Many of his works of decoration in the ducal palaces have been lost as a result of renovations.
His landscapes with religious subjects closely resemble Paul Bril
It's always good to go back and study your basics. Especially when learning a new riding system! Nox is really enjoying his new Shetland Pet-to-Avatar conversion and wanted to join a beginner's working equitation class today to make sure he keeps a strong foundation.

Lol. This picture made #44 on explore. I can't keep from laughing.
Goes to show the stupidity of that idea.

No, I don't know why it came up in your mind, but this isn't a tiny breast. This is a tiny hill.
Here you see two "different" tessellations, backlit. Front and backside are now crossed, instead of beside each other. I did this because in my eyes all sides are fronts sides ;-))
They have been discovered by many people, so I call them "Basics".
Each folded from hexagon about 17cm, glassine, grid 1:32
Here you can see "Basics", in real life, using the same patterns, but folded with different paper.
Nothing new for people who make tessellations, but I thought it would be nice, for those who don't fold, to give a little inside how basics forms can be altered into different shapes. It's a little exploring I started during the summer holidays ;-)
Happy weekend!
If you are interested to see more, have a look at my tessellation album "Origami - Tessellation Progression".
