My Blacktron Base, built March 2010 - My biggest moc since i came out from my dark ages - It started as a small outpost, but grew and grew, so that i had to stop the build because i run out of parts - If i ever manage to visit a convention i have to transfer it on a standart baseplate - I also tried to build some playable features and came out with a foldable entrance stairway, a Tower with a roof that can be opened and a foldable Ladder, the big canopie can be removed and there are several balconies to mount the weapons -

CBAG is “Computer based Abacus Games”. The CBAG CD has Learning, Practice and the Test Modules. Though a student cannot benefit merely with the CD without going to a trainer, the CD enables through the dedicated sections of the Learning Module reinforcement of understanding the concepts and benefit of thorough learning, back from the Abacus class. Similarly, there is equally great scope for practice with question papers and create-your-own-question paper possibilities. The student would be in a position to endlessly create scope for practice and thus benefit greatly from it to meet the need of Speed & Accuracy (and not accuracy alone). The Baker hotel was put into the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in Mineral Wells, Texas. The story begins in 1925. The community was profiting off of the community's mineral water. $150,000 was raised to build a hotel and Theodore Brasher Baker was chosen as the designer. It was completed in 1929 and was the first skyscraper outside a major metropolitan area: 450 guest rooms, two ballrooms, bowling alley, beauty shop, gymnasium, and an outdoor swimming pool.
It was fully air conditioned by the 1940's. Mr. Baker suffered financial difficulties and passed ownership to his nephew, Earl Baker. April 30, 1963 Earl closed the hotel, it was just after his 70th birthday. It re-opened in 1965 and closed permanently in 1972. Aug of 2010 plans were announced to reopen the hotel once financing was obtained.

This particular 1st base was a goal for the young girl at the plate (Skyla) to which she made it successfully.
I have heard many illustrations and references to reaching the bases equated to accomplishments in life. Some crude and others others filled with beautiful equations on the stages of our lives. Right now I feel like I ran all around the bases with the crowds cheering loudly, only to be tagged out at home.

Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from June 29 to Aug. 3, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. This is a magnificent exhibition layout and is based on the approaches to King’s Cross in London. The era has been set between 1923 and 1939, which was the time that Sir Nigel gresley was chief mechanical engineer of the LNER, hence the name of the layout.
The gresley beat has been designed with the viewing public in mind. To the left trains emerge from Oakley Park tunnel, from the North. Bringing coal, fish and mixed freight trains on the upper level some of these will pass through the widened lines to south of the Thames. On the lower level can be seen many suburban services and crack expresses approaching Kings Cross some held waiting for a platform to become vacant.
Emerging from Gas works tunnel on the right you will see light engines being moved from The Cross to Top shed for turning. Plus empty stock being moved in and out of The Cross. Empty coal wagons being returned to the northern pits for replenishing and freight trains from Kings Cross yard to the north including the Scotch goods, On the lower level once the road has been cleared you will see many trains leaving the Cross for the suburbs and all points north.
An amalgamation of York way and the North London line bridge's form a natural divide between the London's frime and the open countryside.
Rolling stock is mainly kit and scratch built with a smattering of ready to rum items. All buildings and signals are sratch built. The layout as you see it running today has been under construction for 12 years.

NAVAL BASE GUAM, Guam (May 8, 2017) Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 5 (EODMU5) platoon 142 deploy an unmanned underwater vehicle from an MH-60 Seahawk belonging to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 (HSC-25) off the coast of Guam. EODMU5 is currently testing its ability to deploy assets from various platforms, including helicopters and patrols, to increase its adaptive interoperability. EODMU5 conducts mine countermeasures, improvised explosive device operations, renders safe explosive hazards and disarms underwater explosives such as mines. Shot at the base of Lower Yosemite Falls. The power of the falls was almost beyond words. An amazing wind and mist was surging at the base and as I crossed the bridge to get to this spot. I could only take 1 shot at a time and had to dry the lens after each shot. After 4 or 5 shots (less than 3 minutes) I was very wet.

London-based folk-rockers Mumford & Sons brought the new, heavier rock sound of third album Wilder Mind to the opening night of Bilbao BBK Live festival, which is celebrating its 10th year in 2015.
But unlike their recent small teaser shows, like those at London's Oslo venue in March, banjos and double basses were back on the menu along with hits from their previous records.
Opening with Wilder Mind track Snake Eyes, the folk-rockers, who previously played a lower set during the 2012 BBK Live event, stepped up to the grand heights of major headliner without drama or fanfare or any questions as to why they were there. It was understood and likely accounted for a significant amount of the ticket sales.
The crowd were enamoured from the outset but were mesmerised by the second track as hit I Will Wait from 2012's Babel was aired.
The 15-song set was a good blend of the old and new with a good few tracks from Wilder Mind in the mix including the record's lead single Believe, Tomkins Square Park and Ditmas.
And while there was an evident love of Saturday night headline rock act Muse in the crowd, it was the folkier, older tracks from Mumford and Sons' back catalogue that had the crowd dancing, with Dust Bowl Dance and Little Lion Man getting the 80,000-strong crowd singing along.
Bassist Ted Dwane is mesmerising to watch as he switches between electric bass guitar and double bass while pulling incredibly intense faces.
Cheers are extended to Winston Marshall each time he switches his guitar for a banjo.
But it is Marcus Mumford who holds the crowd from start to finish as he switches between guitars and one of the two large drum kits adorning the vast Bilbao stage. He even steps down into the crowd at one point, greeting the Basque audience in person.
While a risky move for a band with an established sound to change direction, the slightly heavier and banjo-free movement of Mumford and Sons with Wilder Mind might just have opened up their music to a wider demographic.

It’s 6.30pm and it’s taken us 1.5 hours to arrive at the checkpoint where we need to show our passports. I feel exhilarated. The final challenge is a short steep climb up a hill festooned with prayer flags, This is the ultimate viewing spot. It’s bitterly cold and windy but the views of Everest are awe-inspiring. There is a tiny cloud cap covering the summit, otherwise the views are of blue skies and brilliant white snow.
Behind the hill is a plain from which Everest rises majestically to 8850 metres. During the months of May, June and July this area is apparently crawling with tents of expedition groups. There are none now and venturing into this area without a guide could land you with a hefty fine. Clouds are starting to creep across the plain and the light starts to fade quickly so we catch donkey cart back down the hill for 25 Yuan (about £1.75). By the time I’ve reached the tent I can’t feel my hands at all.

Day 4, 2013 road trip, west Texas. This was the Rattlesnake Bomber Base, a training facility for World War II pilots. Eventually the facility was closed and abandoned. It was used for the hanger where Judd Nelson is going to skydive in the film "Fandango".
The base area has been used for a school and a prison in the last 20-30 years but I believe is currently completely abandoned. However there really isn't anyway to access the area of the former hangers. They can be seen somewhat, what is left of them, from Interstate 20, like some massive ruins off in the distance.

Entering the 'Giant Panda Breeding Research Base' -one of Chengdu's most popular tourist attractions (visited by 100.000 -mostly Chinese panda lovers- each year)- is the easiest way to catch a glimpse of Sichuan's most famous residents outside of a zoo. As China's National Treasure, the giant panda is one of the rarest animals in the world; the total number is estimated to be 1.500, including those living in the wild, 80% of which are in Sichuan province.
The western world came to know giant pandas after a french curate-naturalist, père Armand David, first discovered this species in Suchuan in 1869. Now, the somewhat clumsy giant panda is a symbol representing the World Wildlife Fund and are a messenger of friendly communication between Chengdu and international cities.
Home to nearly 50 giant and red pandas, the 'Giant Panda Breeding Research Base' focuses on getting these sexually reluctant creatures to breed; March to May is the 'falling in love period'. If you visit in autumn or winter, you may see tiny newborns in the nursery.
