U.S. exchanges in the United Kingdom date back to World War I. Civilian agencies, such as the YMCA, operated the exchanges wherever U.S. forces were located in the UK.
The first exchange in the United Kingdom during World War II opened in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1942 for the first U.S. forces arriving on the continent. Openings of other post exchanges throughout England followed.
RAF Alconbury and RAF Molesworth were the last World War II-era airfields in the United Kingdom that were still actively in use and controlled by the U.S. Air Force.
On July 4, 1942 from Molesworth, the U.S. Army Air Force launched its first flights over Nazi-occupied territory.
Today, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service still operates stores at RAF Molesworth.

Three weeks trekking the Dhaulagiri circuit in Nepal, from Beni to Jomosom. Dhaulagiri is the 7th highest mountain in the world.
Worksop, East Midlands based Duke Distribution has added five more Scania V8 vehicles supplied by Keltruck to further upgrade their mostly Scania fleet.
The impressive Nottinghamshire based fleet was supplied by Simon McGuinness, Account Manager.
Commenting on the deal James Robinson, Managing Director at family business Duke Distribution, told the Worksop Guardian:
"We used to operate trackway vehicles and we were always struggling to man them in the summer through the peak busier periods. I thought if I get my own trucks, I could subcontract myself to the company I used to work for, that was the initial plan.
"But because of Covid, we didn't actually turn a wheel for the first six months. I thought it was the worst decision of my life. I'd already committed to the wages of two drivers that were on the trucks. I didn't want to let them down because they had left secure jobs. I had to fund everything through the equity from my house initially. All the startup capital was pretty much dead money.
"I didn't expect to have this much growth in the start of the third year - going from two to 25 trucks has been a big jump. A lot of haulage companies that have been going for 50 years have only got 20-30 lorries. To have what we've got now, it's quite incredible."
Talking about his father, Dale, James praised him for his help, after coming out of retirement to help the company:
"He's given advice and helped me along. He's really accelerated my personal growth.
"I’ve always been really close with him, but when you start facing challenges together it does bring you closer."

Acho que não são muitas de vocês que sabem, mas eu sempre roí as unhas, e não era pouco não. Roía unha, cutícula, pele e até sangrava... é, eu já fui assim.
Ano passado (2008) teve até um período que eu parei de roer as unhas e fazia com a manicure, mas durou pouco. Um mês depois voltei com o vício e foi assim até meados de julho desse ano, que foi quando eu conheci alguns blogs sobre unhas e quis tentar parar de roer, mas dessa vez eu quis aprender a fazer as unhas e consegui. Um tempo depois, novamente voltei com o vício, mas não estava feliz. Então encontrei para vender a tão falada base pró-crescimento da Colorama e decidi que precisava acabar de vez com esse vício, e comecei o tratamento sério.
Segunda-feira comecei a terceira semana do tratamento e mesmo que mínimo, já vejo resultado e fico feliz assim. Não é muita coisa, mas para quem tinha a unha da metade do tamanho que está, tá ótimo!
Não tirei fotos da primeira e segunda semanas porque não conseguia. Tenho uma câmera péssima (é uma samsung), mas tentei tanto essa semana que consegui. Agora pretendo postar o acompanhamento toda semana aqui.
Minha meta é, até dia 23/12 minhas unhas estarem compridas até onde o dedo acaba. Torçam para que eu consiga xD
