In addition to the red/white/blue clothing and flag-themed backdrop, I also decided I was going to settle on 4 photos for the set. The strawberry blonde had a thong on and it'd be a shame if she didn't prove it in one shot. And I like the way Karen is pumping her fist in this pose.

"Hemingway Cap" or "Hemingway Hat" from the J. Peterman Company.

On the left: new, unworn condition.

On the right: near daily wear since the spring of 2016.

For two seasons now I have been thinking I will have to replace my first one, but it keeps hanging in there! I will likely retire it to "display status" at the change of the calendar year, rather than allowing it to fall completely apart.

Yesterday once the pressure of the BBC was off I wanted to shoot someone else (having sorted my camera settings) and I immediately bumped into this guy.

He was walking through the centre of the city with 3 or 4 other guys (who had plenty of tattoos visible) and I picked this guy out on account of his earrings and general demeanour.

He was more than happy to pose for me, he spot with a Scottish accent (like myself) and I sued him if he was from Glasgow which he was. He lives in Charing Cross which is right in the city centre.

He told me his name was Stevie and he is with a band called Funeral for a Friend who were playing a gig in Nottingham on the 27th.

I used the background to a computer game simulator that was setup in the centre of town to add some colour behind him.

I'm counting this shot as a final shot in my 100 Strangers project rather than the start of a new project because I feel I need to rethink my plans before starting the next series.

Thanks to all who have followed my first ever portrait series, I value each person I have come into contact with through the 100 Strangers group and I look forward to continuing with the group and with my own development of street portraits and pushing myself.

This is shot 100+1 (the final shot) in my 100 Strangers Project. See all my shots so far.

A Japanese kid with a baseball bat and a Yomiuri Giants cap. This is a scan of a slide from a box of found slides and negatives from Japan. Not sure of exact dates, but there were some slides in this box that were clearly dated in the 1950s.

The backdrop is an infinity scarf from Target that's a lot more see-through than you'd think. Tried taking advantage of that by throwing a spot on the background to maybe get a silhouette effect, but it didn't quite work out as well as I'd hoped. I still like the shot, though (especially because it took a LONG time to set up).

"Too hot out here. Don't want any accidental chafing."

I don't know if these three were together, or just sitting on the same section of all, but they were certainly all engrossed in their phones. Not a really exciting scene, no decisive moment, and certainly no classic compositional elements to lift it, but sometimes, you just gotta shoot the stuff that interests you.

"Yeah, technically it's my day off, but the crew on-duty is at the hotel dealing with some other emergency."

Batman and his mum, looking for tiddlers and tadpoles in Teddington last weekend.

The event was the annual Teddington in Flower festival, when normally closed and private back gardens are open to the public for an afternoon, all in aid of local charities.

Hundreds of people visited the nine gardens on show across the town, and they were well rewarded with a glorious display of expertise, ingenuity, passion, attention to detail – and, of course, tender loving care.

As well as blossoms and blooms galore, the day also delivered cakes, lemonade, cream teas, hand bell ringing, plant sales and visits from the Mayor and Mayoress of Richmond. Not to mention Batman and his mum.

Organised by the Teddington Society, this year the afternoon raised more than £2,000. This will be shared between the wonderful Landmark Arts Centre and the Friends of Bushy & Home Parks.

Rachel died in 1980 but someone has left two Philiies baseball caps on her grave in West Laurel Hill Cemetery near Philadelphia.

Fed up with snow, Joe jumped in his truck and headed down to the coast. The temperature may still be cold but the sun and blue sky makes up for that!

I have worked with Chelsea on many occasions - we did this fun roller skating shoot in her garden and a road near her house.

Posting outtakes from this year's Independence Day shoot. This shot wasn't bad, just kind of boring.

An ex serviceman, down on his luck, taken at the graveyard district, New Orleans.

The best seaside take-away at the best spot in Scarborough. Mind those seagulls though!

Goodness. All three of my models seem to have had a wardrobe malfunction at exactly the same time, where their bikini bottoms have all fallen down to their ankles. Karen lost her entire suit!
