This shot gives you some idea of how tricky it can be to take a good Now And Then photo, particularly when you're shooting on a compact camera without a viewfinder in bright sunshine.
I nearly pulled off the sign on the bus but the windows are completely out of alignment, suggesting I was perhaps trying to take this photo from the wrong angle. Sorry Bart!

Bart and his partner Daria were rescued from an animal hoarding situation. They were among other Boston terriers, pugs, boxers, rat terriers, maybe others. Six of the dogs were taken by Luv4K9s (www.luv4k9s.com/) and my sister is currently fostering them at her house. Each member of this cohort was named after cartoon characters. But this guy is in no way a trouble maker like his namesake, and he wants nothing more than to cuddle up next to us and be scratched.
I've entered the transit future!
I can't use it until tomorrow though. I'm so excited!
The DC Metro uses the same fare gates as BART. Maybe this can be used to my advantage to cause fare gate mayhem.

I just got into the pilot program for BART's EZ Rider system, which allows you to swipe a smart card at the fare gate instead of using a paper ticket. It uses your credit card to reload itself with money, so you never have to use a ticket machine. So far, I have nothing but good things to report.
just like on the old marta trains. who would have thought putting carpet on trains was a good idea? the interiors were so outdated. the seats were like couches. i felt like i was in a 70s living room.
