Strobist info:

one sb 28 on the bottom @ 1/8 power shooting into ladder on the ground

one sb 800 @1/4 ( i think...) shooting through a second elevatordoor cameraleft and a roster zoomed to 105 mm (gives the square shadow pattern on the wall)

one sb26 camera right, with a snoot to shed some light on Bart's face, but not on the sparks. Don't remember the settings

this was quite a challenging shot!! But it was great fun. Had to get some settings right first try, cause abseiling a couple of floors and climbing back up just to change some settings was quit a lot of work!!

A new lead (Pb) planter made (I suppose) to go in the Square at Barts Hospital, London:

"Presented to St Bartholomew's Hospital in recognition of the devoted service and selfless dedication by all of the National Health Service during the Covid-19 pandemic".

Possibly for presentation by the Worshipful Company of Plumbers, who sponsor this workshop at Amberley.

Today was the start of a 5-month Bikes On BART trial program, lifting the rush hour ban for bicycles in the BART system. Today was also the first day of a BART strike, which imposed even greater restrictions.

They should open up the Bay Bridge and BART transbay tunnel for bikes, at least for the duration of the strike.

Riding on the train at rush hour can give me the sense of transparency. No one wants to see the other riders, it is just time to get home fast.

I am using my bike as a tripod, too bad you can't see it.

Bart's Books in Ojai, California is a bookstore founded by Richard Bartinsdale in 1964. Featured in documentaries and on television news programs for over 40 years, it is a novelty primarily because of being a (mostly) outdoors bookstore, and also because some books are available for sale at all hours.

Shelves of books facing the street are filled with books and patrons are asked to toss coins through the door to pay for any books they take whenever the store is closed. One television documentary had a hidden camera in a van parked across the street to study the honesty of people - how many people actually threw money into the store after hours to pay for books they took when no one was around.

Bart's is patronized by celebrities who live in or visit the Ojai Valley, as well as a tourist destination for Southern Californians. Currently Dave Ray is Bart's Books bookseller.
