The Green Parrot is a rowdy Key West bar that remains open until 4 AM. It's distinction of first or last depends upon which way that you are traveling on U.S, Route 1.
Looking over to Bar Hill from Croy Hill today. Both hills have the remains of Roman forts. Part of the Antonine Wall. Beautiful light.

Warren House Inn, Dartmoor, Devon. Apparently the fire hasn't gone out in a very long time. I'm sure it used to be peat but they use logs now.

Where shiny stainless-steel Zephyrs once traveled through on the busy route between Chicago and the Twin Cities, Burlington Northern Expediter (BN’s monicker for new 2-person crew intermodal trains) No. 42 cruises by the now empty “Zephyr Bar” across the street from the depot at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, on a rainy May 7, 1994.
I love mornings like this in Bar Harbor, Maine, or most anyplace along the coast. The waves were barely detectable and as they moved slowly beneath the soft pastel colors. The lobster boats were kind enough to sit still during the exposure. This is from an old 35mm transparency. Image is best viewed large.

This wasp committed himself to the Southern Baptist tradition of total immersion. I thought he was extinct. He might have been a lapsed Episcopalian. I flipped him out of the baptismal font with an olive fork. He shook his wings and flew for home. He was lucky that I was sipping Argentinian torrontes and not Mexican
tequila!
