I have recently enrolled on a City & Guilds Level 2 course so am going to be posting my weekly homework on here. Would love some constructive feedback. This week's theme was 'Urban Landscape' so i thought the Thames Barrier would be a good subject.
The earthen berm and wooden stakes pretty definitively mark the end of the trafficked part of the road. Even ATVs and motorbikes aren't supposed to enter. Evidence suggests, though, that not to long ago, this was part of the automobile road system.
Continuing our tourist trip to Cairns on our last full day in Australia we visited the Great Barrier Reef. This shot was taken from a glass bottomed boat taking a tour over the coral. Obviously this was taken through glass so the quality isn't that great but hopefully you still get an impression of the coral and the seabed.

Water Tank.
From Peterborough we headed along the Barrier Highway to the NSW Border and the old Mining Town of Broken Hill. It is a long drive and a fairly featureless road, but this is what we saw.
The valley we camped in had steep sides and made the days a little shorter. It was strange to be in near darkness while the sky above was still brightly sunlit.
Maybe a skate-park jump for the use of adventurous roadies in their lorries at the Bournemouth International Centre stage door.
They get very funny about taking photos in Palazzo Abatellis. Very funny as in they won't let you take photos inside of anything at all, or of anything that might be seen inside even if you are outside, and will follow you around like an international art-thieving criminal if you so much as deign to carry a camera.
But they let me take this, bemusedly.
Steep volcanic mountain sides of Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland. It took me a week to hike over these mountains from the Port Fitzroy in the North of the Island to Tryphena in the South of the Island. Taken on the Mountain Air Flight from Auckland.
Broken Hill 199km.

Great Barrier Reef, in far North Queensland, Agincourt Reef on the outer banks, outside of Port Douglas.
the mechanical construction is completely up to you. just let the LED (little red light) point into the Photodiode (little black thing on top). As the pellet travels through the barrier, it will trigger the flash after the preset delay period.
Herre i used a small metal tube to slip onto the shaft of the gun.
