Autumn is rapidly giving way to a cold, wet, windy Winter here. The last downpour stripped away much of Autumn's glory. --- Apart from a very slight crop to remove the tip of an unwanted twig this is as shot.

Looking west from Kit Hill towards Caradon Hill.

Covering 400 acres, Kit Hill is the most dominant landscape feature in East Cornwall. Located between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, this wild, rugged granite hilltop is famous for its fine views.

Given to Cornwall Council on behalf of the people of Cornwall in 1985 to celebrate the birth of Prince William, it has always been an important site and has been shaped by over 5,000 years of human activity. From its use by early people for agriculture and religious purposes to the more recent exploitation of its stones and minerals. The Hill is also home to a wide range of flora and fauna, much of which depends on its heathland habitats.

Waterside at Prince Edward Point.

Another shot from the January morning when we went walking (or sliding) at Fyvie Loch. It was -10c and the loch was frozen. I shot the loch, hoping the weak winter sun would light up the ice! There was a little mist, and further down the water there were Rangers using generators to melt the ice enough to allow the water birds to move about and to feed them too.

I was using my infrared digital converted Nikon D80 with the 'Super Goldie' (590nm) filter. Processed into B+W.

Happy Monochrome Thursday! ;o)

Of winter's lifeless world each tree

Now seems a perfect part;

Yet each one holds summer's secret

Deep down within its heart.

Happy Tree-mendous Thursday...:))

Reflections in Pennsylvania...:))

Beautiful afternoon walk on 15th February

2023.

Side by side, two trees defy the gray sky and the approaching winter. Their last yellow leaves tell of autumn slowly coming to an end. The quiet landscape, dotted with a row of distant trees, invites you to pause for a moment. A moment captured on a typical November day.

Novembermelnancholie

that divides yesterday

from tomorrow.

In that lies hope.

Taken moments after the willow shot. Saturation increased slightly. The light was not so warm looking in real life.

What stories would this ancient oak at Osterley Park & House tell?

Loved the shape.
