A happy accident. I clicked the shutter late and missed the bird flying in frame. But I really like the tension the framing creates. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Growing up on a farm, I used to hate trying to climb through a fence. I would always get my clothes caught, or hurt my hands on the barbs. To this day, when I see barbed wire fences, I think back to those childhood days.

Another one of the poor creatures the Shrike had stored away. Notice how he ate the drumsticks first. While taking this shot I would notice the remaining legs and antenna twitch a bit. Hope it was just nerves and he wasnt still alive.
He likes to hang out on the barbed wire. They are known to spear their food on thorns and barbed wire. This fence houses equipment from the water management facility.
I suppose a comment on conflict in the Middle East. Seen in a Lincolnshire church. Perhaps it was to represent the crown of thorns, but I felt I needed to read more into it.
