Belding's savannah sparrow, taken in Bolsa Chica Reserve
There is something about birds singing on barbed wire that always appeals to me, especially now.
A male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker pecking away on a Cedar Post. I don't think he is going to find any bugs inside. I wonder if he was pecking on it because it echoed ( like a drum) and made a loud sound! Perhaps to attract others.

Dutchmen Pipe Leaf vine wrapped around the barbed wire in the late evening bokeh as the sun went down through the trees and the light shining in .I like the way the vine wraps around the barbed wire mingling together and I enjoy the spider webs that are not seen until you look close, My sister gave me this Dutchmen pipe vine many years ago

Happy Fence Friday! and everyone a happy weekend too ;o)
I've been experimenting with post-processing here, using an old photo of one of my favourite stretches of open road locally. There are three small stands of Caledonian pines - remnants of the ancient forests that once covered the region. This small group of pines remains close to the road in one of the local farm fields.
I used partial desaturating and pencil texturing to alter the feel of the image. A link to the original is in the first comment field
