Local brides traditionally keep their wedding bangles on for a year after their marriage. Some of them then leave the bangles here at this Sherawali Mata temple after a year.

FREEDOM Bangle

This bangle was made for my friend. After seeing the "leaves" bangle., she asked me to make something simular for her.

Nine Herkimer Diamonds were used, they are set in fine silver (999) cups that were drop forged in cold water.

Material: The base plate: silver 925, water cast cups: fine silver 999 (recycled from photo chemicals) , Copper wire, Herkimer Diamonds.

I live in Bath with my artist/writer husband.

I make bespoke textile, bead and button jewellery. I work with a mixture of reclaimed materials and offcuts of cloth, beads/buttons etc. I firmly believe in the recycled art movement and I am inspired by modern art and contemporary and vintage fashion.

My recent collections are made of a mixture of textiles, including silk, small beads and buttons, and braids from India and other far eastern countries, some modern and other vintage.

I accept commissions and attend craft fairs. Contact me for further information at susan.margaret.baker1@gmail.com

I sell my work locally in Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire, Somerset and South Gloucestershire through craft fairs and local arts festivals. My work is also available through Lauren Shanley's Fashion and textile Gallery in the OXO Tower London. www.laurenshanley.co.uk/

Polymer clay onto an old metal bangle. Faux snakeskin effect.

All of the women wear bangle bracelets...lots and lots of bangle bracelets and they're made from so many different materials. I tried on one made of glass which broke as I tried to remove it...bloody mess! But I didn't have to pay for that one. I settled for plastic and then gave them away along the way.
