Gold-filled wire reef knot bangle bracelet

The Nina bangle features gorgeous fluorite nuggets in all shades of blue, green and purple clustered around a sterling silver bangle. Each gemstone is meticulously wire-wrapped on a sterling silver ball headpin and dangles freely from the bangle.

Pushkar, Rajasthan, India

These metal girls Bangles appear to be 'balancing' on a piece of metal rod. In fact the bit of metal they are balancing on is a powerful ceramic magnet and the metal Bangles are being held fast by magnetism.

Taken with a Pentax K10D using on-camera flash (it was all I had with me at the time--so you will notice some CA happening here). The lens is the amazing Sigma 17-70. Picture taken as RAW PEF and converted to 16-bit TIFF using Bibble Lite. It was then processed with PhotoShop CS2 where it was framed with the basic/classic black frame and sharpened. Then down-sampled to 8-bit and down-sized to 800xx for posting here.

I should have found a slightly better table to do this on *G*, but at the time I did not expect to turn this into a picture I would be posting here.

This bangle is in the process paper mache layers being added.

Bangles are traditional ornaments worn by most Indian females, especially Hindus. Traditionally these were worn to signify matrimony but nowadays they are worn by unmarried girls too.

These come in glass and precious metals. They can be plain single-coloured or multi coloured with studded gems.

Personally I like them for their vibrancy and the jingling sound they make :)

A big, chunky hexagonal bangle bracelet of cherry wood that features interesting knots, filled cracks, and figure changes. As a result of its layout by eye, none of the angles are quite precise, which I feel adds charm.

About 2 3/16" thick, 3 5/8" across the points, and 2 5/8" inside diameter. (Bracelet size just under 8.5".) The wood is from a cherry tree that was felled on my parents' property in Niagara, then sawn, stacked, and air dried for several years. Finished with walnut oil.

Fabric and yarn wrapped bangles.

two bracelets from my shop-- charlesvintage.

Have had these bangles since 1990.....still look like new. Hyderabad bangles are the best!!
