After some coffee managed to make myself some more bangle bracelets in my daughter-in-law's studio before the journey home.
These blasted things hurt so much. Shifi had so many options for how to wear her bangles. We spent the longest time figuring out how to arrange them. When I say "we," I mean her Aunty's figured it out and discussed it while I milled around photographing everything and getting in the way.
Sisters Vicki and Debbi Peterson are the lead guitarist and drummer respectively of the Los Angeles girl group The Bangles, who were very big in the 1980s with their hits such as 'Manic Monday', 'Going Down to Liverpool', 'Hero Takes A Fall', 'Walk Like An Egyptian' and 'Eternal Flame' prior to the group splitting up in 1989. In 2000 the Bangles reformed again and in 2003 they released a new album called Doll Revolution, where I first got to see the Bangles onstage at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in March 2003. I also got to see them onstage at the Carling Academy in Bristol and at RetroFest in Scotland in 2008 and here at this special Pinktober breast cancer awareness charity gig at the London IndigO2 in October 2010 where they performed alongside Parade and Beverley Knight. Bangles or Chudi are traditional ornaments worn by Indian women, especially Hindus. They are worn after marriage to signify matrimony
This bangle bracelet uses a plethora of art beads to capture the rustic natural colors of Klee's painting, but with a bit of funk in the black with a spot of red.
The beads:
- Fun, natural rondelle Humblebeads
- Mixed color lampwork glass rounds (but I'm not sure where they came from...I got them on Ebay years ago)
- Lampwork glass disks from HMB Studios and Linden Avenue Designs.
and there are some just regular old beads...Greek ceramic disks and wooden bicones.

Strobist info - SB900 in 60cm softbox RHS - TTL on +1 above and angled down at 45 degrees as close as possible to the bangle to create as big a light source as possible compared to the subject which make the highlights nice and big. Bit of corex to the right providing bounce fill which created the white reflections on the RHS of the bangle.
