After I had my camera out for more than 30 seconds, people started to get very demanding about having their picture taken. They haven't seen cameras all that often, so it was very exciting for them. At one point, a bunch of people directed me to look inside a house and take a picture of what was inside. There was a guy, sitting cutting coils of pink into bracelets. I was happy to take a picture of it, and I found it rather interesting, but I didn't venture too far inside, and right after the family started to insist I go in and take more shots, I closed up my camera and went back to work. I had had the camera out for approximately 3 minutes, and it had garnered the attention of nearly everyone on the block, so it was time to put it away and go back to work. Every time we visited that site, kids would follow me around, asking "picture? Camera?" despite my repeated indication that I hadn't brought the camera again. It was an extremely interesting experience to see how excited people can get to have their picture taken, even if they will never see the picture again. And the bracelets were cool, too.
