Three blue and rose flower lampwork beads are the focal for this copper bangle. They are glass beads with a central blue core patterned with rose coloured flowers. Either side of the focal is a tight coil of copper wire, giving some texture to the piece. The bangle is fastened with a simple copper clasp. You won't find something like this in your local shops!

The ladybird or ladybug is probably the only insect to have been consistently viewed as an omen of good luck throughout the ages and it continues to enjoy popularity around the world today due to its talent for pest control.

A hand sculpted silver ladybird sits on a colour anodised aluminium bangle with flowers and leaves to create a "good luck" bangle. Part of the Cornerstone challenge.

Anodised aluminum was first dyed to create the leaf and flower pattern. The aluminum was then sealed and the bangle shaped synclastically. Metal clay was used to form the ladybird and patina and sealant applied to create the black coloration. I made a silver screw to create a threaded cold connection to attach and ladybird to the bangle.
