This week's theme of the Smile on Saturday group is "Bangles". I had to dig deep in some boxes in the basement to find these sparkling bangles which were part of a fortune teller costume (don't ask ...). My first idea was to take a photo of the bangles with one of the cats but they all flatly refused. Therefore mousie had to volunteer. HSoS ! :)

Another late entry as the little man was over to see us again for more fun in the garden.
These bangles were a handmade gift from the very talented Sassy Lassy www.flickr.com/photos/sassylassy22/ when we met during our trip to Canada. I wear them so much that I've started thinking of them as a good luck charm.
Bangles are traditionally rigid bracelets, originating from the Indian subcontinent, which are usually made of metal, wood, glass or plastic. They are traditional ornaments worn mostly by women from the Indian subcontinent. The women of India know how to sparkle with their colourful saris, silver jewellery and arms covered in bangles. These ladies stepped out of their houses in a small village in the remote Thar Desert to shyly giggle at the western photographers suddenly in their midst.
