Bakery bread from the 19th century nobleman's castle.

It is safe to say that Brauð & Co (Bread & Co) managed to radically change the Icelandic bread and bakery market with a fresh and innovative approach.

Lacock Bakery was used as the bakery in the BBC series Cranford.

I don't know to bake and cook but I would like to own a bakery one day.

Scene in a local grocery store.

Yeah I don't know what this is. It started off as a bakery, but then I added an extension to the side with a little courtyard and counter where you can order things and sit outside. So I think the Bakery side of the business is on the left, and the Cafe on the right.

I actually built the left side a year or so ago, I've only recently come back to it to add the rest. The two floors above the Ground floor are a flat that's accessible from a ladder at the back, it's not furnished yet as I didn't really need to do anything as the inside isn't visible in this render.

Build wise, the windows are based on the ones from the donut shop in the Modular Police station set. I really liked them, so I thought I'd use them here. Everything else is me though, so that's nice. I'm particularly proud of the black roof as it adds a little bit of personality to the build.

And that's that. Get back to your scrolling I guess.

Rainy day w coffee... I especially like the people's hands and arms in this photo...

Still can't upload photo's like I used to, for details see the previous photo...

The Lacock Bakery is in the village of Lacock in England. The village, which dates from the 13th century and has many limewashed half-timbered and stone houses, was used as a location in the TV and film productions of Pride and Prejudice, Moll Flanders and Emma. The Abbey also featured in the recent Harry Potter films.

thanks so much for the likes and comments!!

Come visit the Top Slice Bakery for Loaves, pastries and much more! Grab a coffee to go from the cup kiosk.

All items baked on the premises in the 'flour' tower.

Within those drawers were bakery-fresh cookies, doughnuts, brownies, cakes and other treats. The bright levers down the center were used to disengage the catches that normally held the drawers closed. Loaves of bread were stowed upon the shelves above. A sliding chalkboard in front of the shelves could be used to announce daily specials. A second sliding panel allowed covering the shelves completely across.

In the upper right was the lever by which the Helmsman was able to sound the distinctive whistle by activating a roof-mounted bellows. The driver's seat could be swung forward as shown in order to create more working space as the customer stepped into the cab to make selections.

Here's a video explaining a bit more, narrated by Ralph Story, KNXT (now KCBS) Channel 2's wonderful presenter of historic things of Los Angeles and Southern California:

Noticed this neat bakery on a side street and thought maybe it was closed for good since the Swiss Maid in nearby Woodstock had closed...just weeks after I first visited it on Groundhog Day 2019. It did, alas. The "BAKERY" sign could certainly get used for another bakery!

Built around 1860 (*actually 1832), the Ross Bakery and Inn still provides comfortable accommodation and great food for the visitor today. There are two bakeries in Ross, but this one lays claim to being the "original". Both serve excellent food, and I can recommend their wide range of fine pies - real old fashioned pies.

On a warm sunny afternoon (it was still winter here, so not so warm) there is not a better place to sit and enjoy your coffee.

* Update: The current owners of the Ross Bakery Inn are underselling themselves! I think they take the date of 1860 from when the named changed to the Ross Bakery Inn. www.pinterest.com.au/pin/285697170087908336/

We now know that this building was constructed in 1832 for John Dickinson, a free settler who received a publican's license in 1833. He originally called this the Sherwood Castle (obviously because of his Nottinghamshire background). Sadly Dickinson died in 1836 aged just 39 and is buried in the Old Ross Burial Ground. lv-lv.facebook.com/groups/464183353788099/permalink/57320...
