Bailey now nearly 14 months and over 9 stone in weight. Great dog but wish he would smile for the camera.( best viewed on black)

Model: Bailey

Out in the country a little. Took some great Senior Portraits...even got some with horses! (My first experience and it was great.)

Hoping to be uploading more soon.

I was outside taking photos of the daffodils when I turned around and there was Bailey in her chair looking so sad that she was inside and I was outside. She must have been a little ticked off also because she wouldn't look at me.

Bailey returned to the Vet today. He is in the early stages of kidney insufficiency.

His blood creatinine and sodium levels were elevated.

His white blood cell count was normal, indicating no infection, in his body.. ie bladder/kidneys.

His urine analysis, had blood in the urine, but no bacteria, or crystals. So no infection.

His blood pressure was also elevated today, taking into account the vet "fear factor."

So he was put on 1) Fortekor tablets (benazaprilhydrochloride... 2nd generation angiotensinn converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor) 2.5 mg a day.

If his blood pressure remains high it could further stress/damage his kidneys.

2) an electrolyte solution (chicken flavor! ;) to add to his food 75 cc's a day.

3) KD = Science diet wet food... so we can easily add the electrolyte sol.

We will return in 2 weeks to have hi BP rechecked, and in one month for a recheck of his blood tests.

The vet definitely feels his spraying problem was NOT related to his high blood creatinine. I have all copies of all his labs from last Dec to now. They were all normal even when he was spraying.... with the exception of yesterday's blood work.

TODAY... He seems to be feeling a bit better. I even got him to purr, and he showed some interest in his fave toy.... Cat Prancer toy....(Cardboard thingy on a wire)

He LOVED his wet KD food mixed with the electrolyte sol. and his BP pill.

So this is ALL a plus!!!!! :-))

Again thanks to all my Flickr friends for all the love and support you've shown me and my Bailey Boy.... and Jakey too.

Thanks for all the emails as well. I will try to email you back as soon as I can.

Bailey Boy and me are resting together on my bed now.

I just got a cortisone injection in my left knee, and booked surgery for October. ;-(

What a pair.. LOL.

Thank goodness for "normal" Jake. :-D

the girls idol..baileys :p

This is our new dog.

Bailey is a 3 year old poodle/terrier mix that we adopted from the Michigan Animal Rescue League in Pontiac, Michigan.

He is a great little guy and fits in well in his new home.

This is my dog Bailey. He has always noted for avoiding puddles, of any sort, so imagine my surprise when this happened. Although he refused to go in any deeper. It was this far and no further..

I had to go in to work in the middle of the night and when I got back home Bailey was none to happy that I woke him up.

Tua (FatRoundKitty) were here last week and we took some dollie photos :3.

Day 185 of 365 Year 4

Vet just called me.

Wants to give the Clomicalm another couple of weeks to see the full effect.

If Bailey is still "stoned" and devoid of personality he will reduce the dosage then.

Said to give it time until his system adjusts to the anti anxiety, OCD medication.......

Also said his blood test re damage for heart test murmur was good! No sequela or injury to his heart. ;-))

Bailey had a good night and actually wanted to eat @ 0400 AM...PLAYING non stop with his feeder!

I couldn't get mad. ;-)

I guess Bailey and I will have to be patient. I just want him better yesterday!

Thank you all for your comments and emails.

Your support has been a tremendous gift to me.

(sorry not the best pic of him but he was in no mood for a photo session)

SATURDAY

Bailey had a good night. I had to throw a magazine into the hallway to stop him putting his paw up the feeder. LOL.

Vet called again yesterday to see how he was doing.

Today Bailey is interacting a bit more with me and watching the blue jays take nuts off the patio table.

So far so good.

Have a good weekend everyone.

SUNDAY

Bailey is acting less strange and more like himself. No tail biting or spraying since Clomicalm started. His personality is less affected, and he appears less sedated.

Eating better too.

Thanks for your prayers and well wishes everyone.

MONDAY Today was another good day. Bailey is eating a lot better and purred almost ALL day! :-))I

TUESDAY Bailey continues to do well!!!

He is on to me though... Refusing his Clonicalm in his Luvs treats.

I called him from my bedroom this AM and he came bounding up the 18 stairs to me meowing.

This is the 1st time he has done this in over 2 wks.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

(no further litter box incidents or spraying either)

This cribstone bridge was constructed to span Will's Gut between Orr's Island and Bailey Island.

The massive granite slabs were cribbed to allow the tide to flow freely without increasing tidal current.

Hi everybodies!

This is my big teddy. Mummy made it a long time ago now, but I just found him sitting looking sad in the bear cabinet, and he looked like he needed some huggsies. Sssh! Don't tell Mummy I took him, she says the bears are for looking, not touching. Doesn't make sense to me - no wonders he looks so sad!

After coming out from dinner at a local restaurant we saw this amazing sunset. I only had my iPhone but it was up to the task.

Between A.D. 1761 and 1799, Srirangapatna played an important role in shaping the political history of Karnataka in particular and that of south India in general. Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, who ruled the Mysore kingdom, fought the British valiently in four Mysore battles and in the process, held captive many British army officers. Tipu Sultan held these prisoners of war within the fort at Srirangapatna.

The Dungeon located to the north of the Ranganathaswamy temple is popularly known as Colonel Bailey's Dungeon and appears to have been used by Tipu Sultan to confine prisoners of war. It is an oblong structure concealed from view and measures about 30x15 m with low vaulted roof of brick and mortar and having a series of arches resting on huge pillars dividing the interior into bays. Along the walls are projecting stone slabs having holes, perhaps meant for fastening prisoners to the walls with chains. This dungeon is said to have been used to confine Col. Bailey for a short period.
