RIP in some Madrid dumpster, Penfold the Fourth. You were a good travelling companion and I miss your weight on my back.
On previous backpacking trips, Brian and I hadn't worried about weight or volume. This time, though, we broke the dehydrator (affectionately known as the Snackmaster 5000) and were very impressed. We even had extra space in our bear barrels!
It may be a little confusing, but the pictures take place over 2 trips. The first was late April, and the second was in mid-late July 2013. From Dennis Cove Road to Damascus, VA. The two trips cover approximately 50 miles.
The "Women Backpacking Together" Meetup met at the Caribou Lake Trailhead in the Caribou Wilderness in the middle of the night... around midnight. Lorrie and I were there around 7:30pm so after we put up our tent and built a fire, we warded off the bears by making a lot of noise. Four plus hours! We were up around 9am and out on the trail around 11am. Got to our camp at North Divide Lake around 3:30pm and set in for a cold night. Snow all around but we found a nice meadow to camp in.
Our campsite on the third night. We got here right at sunset and had just barely enough time to setup the tarps before all the light disappeared.
backpack is coming to perfection. On-off switch has a designated place. there is even a lid to cover everything giving the pack some elasticity when falling on its back. added bluetooth board for the RCB4. uses Parani bluetooth module (originally used with RoboBuilder, had to be reconfigured for even parity..)
