The day 8/21/17 the day of the great eclipse. My filter would not work for some reason so I sought out related lighting and got this as the sun came through the crabapple tree the light was crazy. I had heard of the shimmering effect of the totality but through the leaves it was a grand light show glad the filter didnt work so I could look at other angles of the light that day.

On peut penser que le reflet secondaire du soleil dans l'objectif est esthétiquement mal venu mais il fait comme une auréole autour de la tête de l'homme à la masse: il faut bien être un saint pour accepter un tel labeur....
We may think that the secondary reflection of the sun in the lens is aesthetically unwelcome but the latter is like a halo around the head of the man with the mass: it is really necessary to be a saint to accept such a toil....

Way back to 1980. Playing around in the studio with my then new Vivitar 283 flash.
I usually preferred getting out shooting as opposed to the controlled confines of a studio, but, sometimes, I just gotta play. Even 40 years ago.
