A late summer's evening in the garden as the setting suns backlights a chipmunk.

Way back to 1980. Playing around in the studio with my then new Vivitar 283 flash.

I usually preferred getting out shooting as opposed to the controlled confines of a studio, but, sometimes, I just gotta play. Even 40 years ago.

The day 8/21/17 the day of the great eclipse. My filter would not work for some reason so I sought out related lighting and got this as the sun came through the crabapple tree the light was crazy. I had heard of the shimmering effect of the totality but through the leaves it was a grand light show glad the filter didnt work so I could look at other angles of the light that day.

I'm sorting old photos and posting a few interesting ones. This image was uploaded to Flickr on Mar. 30, 2022.
