I'm not sure what the pink flowers are, but there are purple petunias in the background, plus a yellow flower of some kind. Lovely, don't you think?

Gangi is a village perched on Monte Barone, a mountain covered in houses with Etna in the background, 120 km from Palermo.
This small village stands at a thousand meters above sea level, surrounded by churches and noble palaces.
In addition to the enchanting landscapes and being enveloped in a unique atmosphere, the medieval village of Gangi also offers an enviable artistic, historical and cultural heritage.
It was proclaimed Borgo dei Borghi in 2014 and named "Jewel of Italy", the only municipality in Sicily that has had these privileges.
For lovers of nature, trekking and walking, in Gangi it is also possible to organize this type of excursions, in the spectacular scenery of the paths of the Madonie Natural Park, suspended between the sea and the mountains.

Gangi è un borgo arroccato sul Monte Barone, una montagna vestita di case con l’Etna di sfondo, a 120 km da Palermo. A mille metri di altezza sorge questo piccolo borgo, circondato da chiese e palazzi nobiliari.
Oltre agli incantevoli paesaggi e ad essere avvolti in un’atmosfera unica, il borgo medievale di Gangi offre anche un patrimonio artistico, storico e culturale invidiabile.
E’ stato proclamato Borgo dei Borghi nel 2014 e nominato “Gioiello d’Italia”, l’unico comune in Sicilia che ha avuto questi privilegi.

Another from last year. The background is natural - just the early light falling on golden grass with the butterfly in my shadow and a tweak or two of the exposure.

Today is a yellow day at Color my World Daily and the theme at the fabulous *ღღ* Cosas de casa *ღღ Group, is white background.
So what is yellow, full of vitamins, goes great with gin & tonic and looks awesome on white background ? Lemon of course !!
I had this picture on my mind for quite some time now so when I heard the white background theme I was ready !
Well at least in my head, because capturing the picture that I actually like is surprisingly very time consuming (am I too obsessive ??? Am I a photography monster ?? I think we have something here.)… We all (yes, my family’s input is mandatory during the photo shoots !!) almost lost our minds with this one… Luckily we had gin & tonic for my husband and I and video games for my sons to calm down… So cheers my friends and I hope you like the result !

Panorama of Dubrovnik in Croatia with the Adriatic Sea (Mediterranean Sea) in the background during the blue hour (7:15 pm). This shot was taken on the local mountain Srd.
You wouldn't believe it, would you? I really do have 2 square cups. Almost impossible to drink out of them but I like them for what they are. I am sure they will make a proper appearance on day. This one was my second choice for Macro Mondays (corner)

Working with this candid street photography grab from Broken Arrow Rose District, I hated all the vehicles in background so worked to smooth them out. I wanted the tattoo and real roses to be seen over the cars behind them.

Faszinierende Nebelstimmung in den Bergen - der Felszahn des Leonhardisteins (1.449m) bei Kreuth am Tegernsee ragt wie ein riesiger Schiffsbug aus dem Nebelmeer heraus, im Hintergrund die Wände des Vorkarwendels...ein unglaublich schöner Anblick...
Fascinating foggy atmosphere in the mountains - the rock tooth of the Leonhardistein (1.449m) near Kreuth am Tegernsee rises like a huge ship's bow out of the sea of fog, in the background the walls of the Vorkarwendel mountains...an incredibly beautiful sight...
Kites look so much better against a darker background. I usually get shots of them with a white or blue sky and the contrast is just not enough. That's why I think this is a lovely background.
