I like the way this turned out. The water bottle is in focus but is hardly the most important thing in the photo.
This photograph captures a tranquil moment in Central Park, New York City. The scene centers around a calm pond, its surface reflecting the surrounding greenery and the clear blue sky. The pond is encircled by lush, leafy trees, providing a natural canopy that offers shade and a sense of seclusion. In the foreground, a couple sits on a bench, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, while other park-goers can be seen walking and relaxing along the water's edge. A charming building with a green roof, likely a boathouse or pavilion, adds a touch of architectural interest to the scene. In the background, historic residential buildings rise above the treetops, blending the urban skyline with the park's natural beauty. The overall image conveys a harmonious blend of nature and city life, highlighting Central Park as a cherished oasis in the heart of New York City.
I chose this one for background because I think the out of focus leaves in the background and foreground really make the photo more interesting and add nice color
For Movement #5, I took a more reductive approach with the shape of the bird. I wanted to define part of his wings, while, at the same time, not being so representational that he became stiff. Coming from a high realism background, it's easy for me to get carried away with anatomy and rendering, and I didn't want to do that. I kept myself in check by keeping the design simple, while maintaining a strong sense of composition. The arch of the bird's wings, the gesture, and the dive of the bird add to the feeling that he's in motion. These were all extremely important for me with this painting. This is one of the few works where I feel the painting isn't so much of a pigeon, and it could simply be an appreciation of the gracefulness found in birds. I love watching lakeside birds dive for food, and I feel this interest has somehow surfaced in this piece.

The background I'm planning on using for my infographic. My illustrations are going to be very transportation based, as they have to do with my commute too and from Salem on a daily basis. What do you think about the color palette, the textures?
