No Photoshop or anything like that - just a colored wall in a castle park.

I think this would have looked a lot different with a different background but when you want the centers you usually can't get them looking up, you get the backside of the flower..

A juvenile Peregrine Falcon makes a low pass in front of the tiled roof of a church while clutching its left-over prey.

The background clouds look Photoshopped; they are not.

I don't usually like to put up new versions of old images, but I've broken my rule in this case. The previous version didn't give a sense of the scale of the building: it was just a crop of the top. This version, I hope, better conveys the height.

Candid shot of a Capitol Hill Arts Workshop student in my Washington, D.C. photo class. Single dot focusing was on the rim of the student's lens but special attention was on the background, framing the subject in the doorway and using the photo of the wall to balance the image.

Being the insomniac that I am, I seldom wake up early enough to "rise with the sun."

But I wanted to shoot time-lapse images of a breaking dawn, and this is another single

frame (like the one below) taken from the set. (Can't wait to finish editing and set the

images to music).

BLACK BACKGROUND is the topic for Monday 11 January 2016 Group Our Daily Challenge

I chose this photo for the 'your best shot in 2017' Group, or should I say it was chosen by you guys (thank you all) out there in the Flickr sphere. I've tried to concentrate on macro shots for a while now and I think this one succeeds quite well in that respect. For me macro is a real challenge, and sometimes my temper gets the better of me, but this time I got a bit lucky as only a good confluence can be. Very lucky indeed as it was meant to be just a trial run for the new camera:)

This game is played like the marble solitaire board game, except with glass pawn-like pieces. As I am intolerant to board games I have no clue as to what that all means:)

Such delight., blowing kisses…

A beautiful opening Rosebud.

A duo-toned Cherry Parfait rose also called 'Fire and Ice', in our garden.

It was, like all flowers: imperfect…

I have yet, after thousands of flowers find a 'perfect' one.... just like people? LOLOLOL

Still, it is slowly unfolding and yielding us its beauty and fragrance in the evening...
