Took photos in class tonight for cutting out and pasting into a new image - this is my first attempt!

BOLAR flight - for a flypast over White Hart Lane Stadium in London at the start of the Jacksonville Jaguars v Miami Dolphins NFL game
Made for the background stamping challenge.
This is my first go and doing a mini mister background as in Tims Holtz video. Did the back ground with 2 different sprays with aqua and violet perfect pearls added. Used old writing to stamp on background and chip flower.
Also died the lace to match. Used Glossy Accents to accent.
Just wish the pearly look photographed better

A fast macro lens opens up an entirely new dimension to photography! I took the photo of the tree from just a few inches away from it, and at f/2, it completely obliterated the background into a smooth bokeh of colors. See the same scene below with the focus changed to what was in the background.
Depending on the aperture I use (e.g., f/4 or 5.6), I can control the level of defocus of the background, while staying close to my subject. Something only a macro lens can do.
This exercise convinced me to not only keep the Zeiss 100mm Makro Planar lens, but also get the 50mm version of it. This lens is going to be my normal lens for my Nikon for all situations except when I must have autofocus.
I highly recommend either of these lenses to anyone with any DSLR.
