Get out of Low back pain, discomfort or stiffness in backbends? Let’s break down the 3 part cobra that I teach in all my immersions.

1. Stop pushing your torso - this smashes your vertebrae into each other. Instead pull your ribs Forward. This is no easy task it takes intentional practice, back strength and abdominal flexibility.

2. Break the movements into 3 parts rather than trying to mail the pose in one inhale. Sure it’s possible to do that but only if you’ve already mastered the pose.

3. Try fingertips if it doesn’t cause pain to your finger joints. This will stop you from accidentally pushing (remember back bends are created from your pull muscles)

4. Bend your elbows and let your pelvis be on the ground this will allow you to focus on your spine and again help you relax into the arch instead of push into it

5. Let your feet be a little wide this will allow for some range of motion at the hip joints making it easier on your sacral iliac joint

Let me start off by saying this is a legit backbend :) not that lame lay on the ground and push yourself up, oh no honey. I just bend. I'm probably one of the most flexible people you will ever meet.

anywho, today is 180. half of 360. hence the backbend. like a half circle ? ha ... ha ... hahahahahahaha.

I meant to wake up early and fix my sleep schedule today but .... I didn't. :\.

Maybe tomorrow.

I tried this picture in a lot of different locations but none of them really worked out .... but I got what I wanted for the most part so I was happy.

I'll definitely be feeling it in my spine/wrists tomorrow though.
