60028 hauls its heavy load of stone out of Lewisham station and takes a left towards Denmark Hill, Wandsworth Road and heading then north through Kensington Olympia.
Three former SP locos head the Riverside Local or Colton Job, back to Colton, CA on Nov. 08, 2012, having just returned from switching customers at the end of the branch for the final time. Just ahead is the bridge over the Santa Ana River and a small yard adjacent to a trans-load facility that now occupies the former Griffin Wheel plant, seen on the left in the background. The line was severed for quite a while, when flood waters washed out a couple of spans. UP finally replaced the spans and operations resumed to Riverside. Now, the line between the bridge and the crossing in Riverside will be abandoned. Another job, operating at night, switches the trans-load center. That too, will change soon enough, as a connector off the BNSF mainline, to the left of the facility, will be built along the north bank of the river and access the trans-load business. This will eliminate the need to run down 9th Street in Colton from the old Colton Yard to serve this facility.

My dad found this pic earlier this week so I thought I'd share for #TBT. I was 18 or 19 at the time.

We have buzzards nesting in the trees at the bottom of the garden so I got a shot of them soaring around on a lovely sunny afternoon
The Apex-Class APC is one of the few ground vehicles to be developed by the Dawn Forge. While mainly specializing in various forms of mech, they occasionally need a vehicle that is faster, tougher, and more reliable than a two legger. That is where this six wheeler comes into play. At approximately 4.5 tons, the Apex-Class APC, more commonly referred to as the Hippo- because of its massive size, can take quite the beating thanks to its 5 inch solid polymer/Kevlar/steel alloy. However, though it is indeed quite heavy, it can also maintain constant speeds at up to 60 MPH. While its intended uses are quite clear, get troops in and out of battle, the Hippo can also be used for wide scale assaults, towing mechs out of battle, and perusing enemy vehicles.

Single RAW hand-held HDR image of the River Cam and The Backs taken from King's Bridge in Cambridge, England.
It was a fantastic day to go punting along the River Cam - in fact, the weather was so good that the River Cam was filled with fellow tourists and punters!

Winter expedition out in the sticks testing the new zoom. If I had one complaint about the lens it would be that when shooting hand held, the lack of the VR (vibration reduction) function causes some graininess at distance as evident by the hanging icicles over the river.
Tripod and timer seem to be a must when using any telephoto lens without some sort of VR.
the back pond has been dug out needed to line it with wet clay ti stop the soil falling in as the soil was so dry
